Unicorn Media Announces New Release!
Our development team has been working literally around tht clock to crank out the newest release of our platform services. The release went live late yesterday afternoon and is now available for use by our platform clients.
In light of this new release, we though we’d give you a little rundown of all the new features and improvements now available to Unicorn Media clients:
Multiple Profile Support:
- We now support the ability to add additional H.264 or AAC bitrates to content or catalogues of content. These can also be added or removed on the fly.
- Clients can now view file details and download their transcoded files.
- We now support MPEG-2 profiles.
- We also support the ability to add default profiles to both players and feeds.
Embed Player Upgrades:
Our player has a new, sleeker look as well as the following new features:
- The player supports scaling at any size and aspect ration. It automatically drops out functionality as the player gets to small to display it without distortion.
- Custom embed size ratio control in the portal.
- Optional full screen support.
- The ability to have player controls “float” over the top of the video and disappear automatically.
- A chromeless player view.
- Radically faster loading time-particularly on pages with several players.
- Improved 3D search result and queue view (a personal favorite of CTO, AJ McGowan).
- A full Javascript API.
RSS Ingest and Feed Syndication:
The following features are being released for beta this week and will become generally available in the next several days:
- RSS automated content ingest.
- Improved feed handling that picks up even changes to individual items.
- RSS, ATOM, and JSON outbound syndication support.
We’re very excited about these new changes, and a special shout out goes to the Unicorn Media development team for getting this new release out on schedule!
